Kaliurang
Kaliurang park forest lies in south of Mt. Merapi, Yogyakarta, Indonesia. Its just about 28 km from Yogyakarta and 900 meter above the sea level . In holiday season Kaliurang is visited by those who want to hike, family camping, mountain biking, outbound training or just to relax. They can rent a villa at kaliurang park forest area. One of the most popular Kaliurang park forest places is the outpost, here you can see mountain clearly at 9 AM.

Here are some tips to visit Kaliurang:
1. Better if you visit Kaliurang in summer time in Febuary till August.
2. Kaliurang is a good place/ site for Family camping, Fun camping, one night camping, one day hiking or mountain biking.
3. Better if you bring your own food, because they have limitated choice of food.
4. In my experience, I went on the afternoon to see merapi view from outpost. Then I built a camp/ tent. On the next morning I started to hike and viewed merapi mountain from the outpost in suitable time at 09.00 AM where the sky was clear.
So, take your carrier/ backpack and enjoy your trip in kaliurang.
Don’t worry, if you feel Kaliurang is not challenge enough. Yogyakarta still have many challenging/interesting places/ sites to visit, such as Kalikuning, Bebeng, and Turgo. For bonus you may visit Prambanan temple and Yogyakarta palace. Just Wait my next article about Kalikuning.
